MINIMUM SHELF THICKNESS

When using the aluminum bracket we recommend not going thinner than 1 ¾ in thickness for your shelf. This is because the bracket itself is 1 1/2" thick, so you will need at least 1/8" of additional material on the top and bottom of your shelf to house and conceal the bracket. Just remember to leave yourself that 1/4" of shelf thickness when selecting your material.

DO I NEED TO USE SET SCREWS?

No, they are not absolutely mandatory, but if you do not use glue or set screws and whatever you attach to it does not have sufficient weight that no one can lift it or make it jump up by bumping it, it will come off. Essentially, the Hovr bracket system is a French cleat but supercharged, and still needs to be secured somewhere, somehow.

Note that while not mandatory, we urge you to always use set screws in order to get the strongest, most secure installation of your Hovr bracket, as glue cannot maintain the same level of strength and hold.
